TextOnPhone offers 20,000 Ebooks for iPhone. TextOnPhone offers a library of over 20,000 books in 37 languages along with short stories and book excerpts contributed by contemporary authors. The main idea of a newly launched platform is to connect authors with a new audience, while providing mobile consumers with entertaining books and stories. The obvious example would be to allow authors in the network to share short stories and book excerpts with readers and communicate directly within their social network.

You can read in either portrait or landscape, plus there’s a one touch button for e-mailing a page to a friend. Presumably, most of the titles will be Public Domain content, but maybe the service will show Apple that people do indeed want to carry, read and enjoy eBooks.
