Phone Guardian 2.0 is a security anti-thief application. So it should be used in the unfortunate case when your phone is gone or you are afraid that it can be stolen. That is why Phone Guardian can be operated remotely, sending special text messages to the phone. V2.0 introduces security fixes over the previous version and adds new SMS commands for instant thief tracking, full lock and turning on and off the siren.Symbian Guru released the new version 2.0 of Phone Guardian - the security software which helps to protect the phone from theft and unauthorized access. New version of Phone Guardian introduces security fixes of the previous version. Phone Guardian has got new SMS commands for instant thief tracking, full lock and turning on and off the siren. The software has been translated in to many languages. Also new security engine was introduced. This engine is invisible for the users, but it allows more easy functional security updates in the future.
Phone Guardian 2.0 locks the phone automatically, after SIM change and on receiving of the lock SMS. Phone unlock is possible only using unlock SMS with right password or password entering in the application.
Phone Guardian 2.0 allows phone and thief tracking using the SMS with useful information. The Info-SMS contains always the current SIM card and phone number, as well as Cell ID information which allows territorial tracking of the mobile.
Phone Guardian 2.0 has new features listed below:
• Siren sound can be turned on and off using SMS
• Information about the phone and SIM card can be requested at any time per SMS
• New Full Lock SMS command that locks the phone and emits the siren
• The Error with Unlock after reboot were fixed: now phone stays locked after phone reboot
• The error with Uninstall without password was fixed: now it is not possible to uninstall the app without password
• Application languages were added, such as: English (UK); French; German; Spanish; Italian; Swedish; Danish; Norwegian; Finnish; Russian; Dutch; Polish; Latvian; Lithuanian; Ukrainian
When turned on, Phone Guardian 2.0 performs two main functions:
- Device locking function
- Anti thief function
• Lock mode – to select the lock mode from the list of available:
o On SIM change – the phone is locked on every change of SIM card
o On Lock SMS – the phone is locked after the Lock SMS is received by the phone
o Both – both modes mentioned above are active
• Alarm – is set to emit siren when locked
• Lock message – to enter text of a Lock message which appears on the screen when the phone is locked
• Send alarm SMS to – to indicate the specified number of the phone to which the application sends SMS when a different SIM card is inserted into the mobile phone
• Autolock after – to set the lock-time when the phone is idle
