W890 Sony Ericsson Revealed

W890 was revealed by Sony Ericsson in London 6 Nov, this phone is the latest additions to its Walkman® phone portfolio. W890 Walkman® phone is a HSDPA/UMTS 2100 and GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 phone.

The W890 with its super slim, stylish design, massive 2GB music storage capacity, and 3.2 megapixel camera, the W890 Walkman® phone promises to hit the right notes with sophisticated music lovers and design connoisseurs alike.

W890, the ericsson's successor to the popular W880; the extra-thin (0.39-inch) bar phone upgrades the camera to 3.2 megapixels and is the first W800 model to natively support HSPA access for 3G-grade downloads on European networks. It also comes with a 2GB Memory Stick Micro card out of the box -- the most external storage included for a Sony-Ericsson phone, the company says -- and an improved keypad layout. It should be available in early 2008 and should include a North American release given the addition of quad-band GSM for calling and EDGE data in the region.

At only 9.9 mm thick, the super slim W890 will come equipped with a 2" 262k color TFT (240 x 320 pixels) display, 3.2 megapixel camera with 3.2 digital zoom with video recording, Walkman player, 28 MB internal memory, card slot, a 2GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) in the box, Stereo speakers and FM radio with RDS.

The W890 is another walkman mobile (W - Walkman) from Sony Ericsson, and besides featuring the latest version of their media player (version 3.0) the phone comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera (not as good as the K800i or the K810i though) and HDSPA mobile Internet (4 times faster than a traditional 3G phone). The phone is as thin as a CD cover.

W890’s HSDPA capabilities allow you to download music at speeds up to four times faster than with regular 3G devices. Plus, it makes viewing pages on the internet quicker and easier too. The phone is fully compatible with Sony Ericsson’s PlayNow™ mobile entertainment experience. This provides you with instant access to the latest content – whether it’s the full-length music tracks, the hottest mobile games, ringtones or wallpapers – downloadable either direct to your phone or via your PC.

W890’s 3.2 megapixel camera allows you to record the moment for posterity. One-press access to the camera means you need never miss a shot. Plus, instantly upload your photos to your personal online gallery, or ‘blogsite’, to let your friends know what you’re up to.

W890 is fully compatible with a range of the latest Sony Ericsson music accessories, including the Portable Bluetooth™ Speaker MBS-100 and the Stereo Bluetooth™ Headset HBH-DS220.

W890 will be available in selected markets from Q1 2008. The W898c Walkman® phone is a GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 phone for the China market only.
